If you have a new type of ID, with english characters, and you don't have to travel outside of the EU, there is no need for a Greek passport. The Greek ID issued from 2000 and onwards is acknowledged in all Schengen countries the Netherlands included.

Appointments are no longer scheduled by phone. To schedule an appointment for a passport, you will have to download a form from the website of the Consular Office and fill in the application for passports.

Read the whole procedure here (available in Greek only).
