Is there anything better than Avgofetes for breakfast, along with hot coffee or milk? Slices of bread, soaked in a mixture of beaten eggs with milk, toasted in a frying pan with fresh butter, and served with syrup, honey, cheese, ham, or anything that suits you.

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 15 minutes
Servings: for 4 people or if you are very hungry 2!

What we will need

4 eggs
1/3 cup milk
Slices of 2-day-old bread, or fresh banquette
Butter

Preparation

Mix in a bowl, the eggs and the milk. You can add pepper and salt if you'd like.

Whisk until the mix is well blended and pour it into a shallow bowl.

Melt some butter over a large pan on a medium high heat.

One by one you dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing the bread to soak up some of the mixture and you add as many slices of bread onto the pan as it will fit at a time.

You fry them until they get brown on both sides. You should flip the bread 3 or 4 times.

You serve them with honey, jam or cheese and ham. Enjoy!
