Danny Boyle's Trance red band trailer pinned me to my chair and a bit more light on Trainspotting 2.

The trailer for Trance upcoming British drama thriller directed by Danny Boyle genuinely looks like a film that will pin people down to their seats.

The movie plot

A fine art auctioneer mixed up with a criminal gang joins forces with a hypnotherapist to recover a lost painting. As boundaries between desire, reality and hypnotic suggestion begin to blur, the stakes rise faster than anyone could have anticipated.

After seeing trailer

I really cant wait to see this. Wit, grit, thugs and paranoia seem to ooze out of this trailer. It looks spectacular and feels like a movie that might keep the audience pinned down to their seats till the very end because nothing appears to be knowable.

On the fan-boy side (since I am a Boyle fan), this film reminds me of Boyle's older movies where he was bolder and had his own signature unlike 127 Hours which was way too Hollywood for my taste.

The film is scheduled to be released on 27 March 2013 in the UK and at 5 April 2013 in the US.

What about Trainspotting 2?

Boyle was at the SXSW Film Festival to promote Trance and during the panel questions he shed some more light on his Trainspotting sequel news based loosely on Irvine Welsh's Porno.

This has been a long time coming. There’s always been this long-term plan for Trainspotting 2. If John [Hodge] can produce a decent enough script, I don’t think there will be any barriers to Ewan [McGregor] or any of the cast coming back. I think they’ll wanna know that the parts are good so they don’t feel like they are letting anyone down. The reason for doing it again is that people cherish the original, people remember it or have caught up with it if they never saw because they were younger. So you want to make sure you don’t disappoint people. That will be the only criteria I think.
