Switching to boiled Greek coffee might actually help you live longer according to a new study

Ikaria is a Greek island with inhabitants that boast the higest rates of longevity in the world! Thats why it was picked by researchers and scientists to figure out their secret of longevity.

Turns out, its coffee, Greek coffee!

According to the research, Ikarians are twice as likely to live past the age of 90 than in any other part of Europe. The researchers focused on Greek coffee and found that a cup of traditional Greek boiled coffee is the secret to a longer life and better health. Greek coffee is rich in polyphenols and antioxidants, with only a moderate amount of caffeine.

Study author Dr Gerasimos Siasos, from the University of Athens Medical School, said: 'Boiled Greek type of coffee, which is rich in polyphenols and antioxidants and contains only a moderate amount of caffeine, seems to gather benefits compared to other coffee beverages.

The research on the elderly population of Ikaria showed that the consumption of boiled Greek coffee is associated with improved endothelial function, even in those with high blood pressure.
